Event Summary
The Ipoh Green Campaign
kick-started environmental activities in Perak on World
Environment Day 2007. It was a success.
Ten exhibition booths attracted over
1300 visitors during the three-day event. We also conducted
five environment workshops. It was primarily targeted
at students. The main objective of the workshops is to
highlight to the students issues of environment protection.
There was also a workshop for representatives from the
corporate sector, which emphasized the proper scheduled
waste management. 196 students and corporate figures attended
the workshops.
The event closed with a popular children
art competition, which attracted 81 children and their
families. It was a lively scene.
We are happy to report over 30 corporate
enquiries in response to the Exhibition and media coverage.
They are interested in starting recycling in their premises. |
