Launching Ceremony
Thursday, 3rd April 2008

2.30pm – 3.30pm

In conjunction with the Earth Day 2008, we are organized the children environment exhibition in Perak State Library. It was successful launched by Dato’ Mohamad Rafiai B.Hj Moktar (Mayor of Ipoh city).

The exhibition was attracted over 1000 visitors during the one month event, it consist of students, teacher, parents, corporate representatives and general publics.

Art Craft & Wall Poster Contest

Tuesday, 8th, 15^th, 22^nd April 2008

Thursday, 10^th, 17^th, 24^thApril 2008

 3.00pm – 4.30pm           

 Schools will be invited to participate in the “Art Craft & Wall Poster” contest,  the theme of the craft and poster is concerning of “Environmental Sustainability”. The main objective of the contest is to encourage the students to be creative, caring for environment and fully express their imagination.

 

·         The contest is open for primary schools in Perak State.

·         The school shall send two different groups of students to participate in the activities.   

        (Art Craft and Wall Poster) each participating group shall consist of six students. 

·         Duration : 1 1/2  hours for each group

·         Prize award for school                 1st prize                                RM 500 & Trophy

 2nd Prize                              RM 300 & Trophy

                                                                                                 3rd Prize                               RM 200 & Trophy

Children Environment Workshop A total of 4 sessions of children environment workshop conducted in the library. The workshop mainly focused on raising the awareness of 3R practice and to highlight the issues of environment protection.      ·          Target group: Children below 16 years old ·         Participation: Free and no registration required THURSDAY, 3rd APRIL                     3.30pm - 4.30pm “Life Styles of Health and Sustainability for the new generation”  Presented by Mr. Jeff Lee of LOHAS magazine (Mandarin)  TUESDAY, 8th 15th 22nd APRIL        2.00pm - 2.45pm “Love our environment – to start 3R practice” Presented by Mr. W.H Lau and B.C Goh (Bilingual- Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin)

 

Environment Workshop (Adult Session)

Friday, 11th April 2008

11.00am – 12.00pm 

The environment workshop is conduct by Don Theseira and Mylene Ooi (Malaysia Green Crusader awarded by Reader’s Digest).

 The environment workshop was attracted over 50 participants, it consist of representatives from the corporate and general public. The main objective of the environment workshop was to share 3R practice and the proper recycling methods.

 

 

Game Session

Saturday, 5^th, 12^th, 26^th, April 2008

10.00am – 11.00am                                                           

 An environment-themed game was conducted during the exhibition. The game session is open for children below 12 year old and total of 112 children attended.  It is aimed for children to learn the beverage carton recycling in a fun and interactive way.

 

Colouring Contest

Sunday, 6^th, 13^th, April 2008

10.30am – 12.30pm

 This contest are attract over more then 120 participant which is children with their parents.

The main objective of the colouring contest is raising the message of join effort (children and parent) in environment protection. Together they draw a dream world and work together to maintain it.
