Plastic Bag Composting
Plastic bag composting is one of the simplest way of composting.
All that is require is just to fill the plastic bag with
leaf material. A shovel of soil is put into the bag to
supply the microorganism that will degrade the leaves.
The soil is moisten to accelerate the microorganism activity.
The plastic bag is then shaken and placed in the shade.
The plastic bag need to be periodically flipped to redistribute
its content. While plastic bag composting is the simplest
way of composting the process occur under anaerobic conditions
and is much slower than other composting. |

Pot Composting
Food waste, vegetables and any organic matter can be composted
using the pot composting system. A pot measuring about
12-14 inches in heights are normally used. In each of
the pot, a piece of mosquito mesh is place at the bottom
of the pot. Pebble are put on top of the mesh. Approximately
2 inches of moist soil is added onto the layer of pebble.
The organic kitchen waste are then collected daily and
put on the pot. After the waste has been laid into the
pot, 2 inches of soil are than added on top of it. This
process is then repeated daily till the pot is full. The
pot must be protected from sun and rain but the soil must
be kept moist at all time. |

Pit Composting
Pit composting are ideal for composting food waste. In
order to do pit composting, one needs to dig a hole in
the ground, fill it in with food waste, layered by about
2 inches of soil and finally at least 8 inches of soil
if filled in to cover the pit. Fallow areas in the garden
are the best place for making pit composting. |

Tyre Composting
The bottom of the tyre are filled with some bedding materials;
rocks or pebbles. Food waste are then filled into the
tyre. Cloth are placed in between the layer of tyres for
easy carrying. The soil are kept moist at all time to
increase the microorganism activity. |
